My BMW Remote App Now Available for Android

The My BMW Remote app is now available to more than just iPhone users. BMW has recently released an Android-compatible variant of the app.

Android is the fastest-growing basis for smartphones and tablets (i.e., the iPad), in the world. By adapting their My BMW Remote App to function on the Android platform, BMW is enabling more BMW drivers worldwide the opportunity to indulge in the enhanced convenience the app lends.

The app  features a remote car start, vehicle locator, remote climate control, remote door lock and unlock, remote light flash (all found in the iPhone variant) - the all-new, Android-compatible app also offers Google Local Search. This isn't a huge surprise given the fact that Android is Google's open-source operating system. But, it's still a very BIG deal...Just think about how much easier traveling will be without having to put points of interest into your navigation tool...A LOT!

If you own a BMW 5-Series (manufactured Oct. 2010 or after), BMW 7-Series (manufactured Oct. 2010 or after) or BMW X3 (manufactured Nov. 2011 or after), have a Professional or Business grade navigation system and an active BMW Assist account, you can download the new My BMW Remote app for free right now at the iTunes store.
