Power and Gas Mileage

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is a joy to drive for many reasons, including its potent powertrain. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. You also won’t have to worry about having to fill up too often, as this new BMW model has terrific fuel economy, getting an EPA-estimated 28 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway.

The Lexus IS pales in comparison in both areas. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder that puts out 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and it gets just 21 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.

Space and Comfort

Inside the 2025 BMW 3 Series you will find a sizable cabin with plenty of room for five people. It also offers substantial space for cargo: 16.9 cubic feet of in the trunk. In addition, it has a 40/20/40-split-folding rear seat to give you more room to work with.

The Lexus IS also has five seats, but space is at a premium in the rear row. Plus, the trunk offers a paltry 10.8 cubic feet of room.

Technology

The 2025 BMW 3 Series boasts a futuristic-looking control center consisting of a 12.3-inch gauge display and 14.9-inch infotainment system touchscreen that seem to float above the dashboard. The system is extremely easy to use and includes in-dash navigation, wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, and a 5G Wi-Fi® hotspot.

The Lexus IS has a much smaller touchscreen, measuring in at just eight inches. In addition, it doesn’t come standard with a navigation system.
