It’s important to perform regular checks on your vehicle, in order to prevent bigger problems further along. Checking the tires should be part of this routine maintenance, as having good tires means a safer drive. Tire pressure and tire wear can affect the safety and performance of your vehicle.

The tires should be inflated to the tire and vehicle’s recommendations. This information can be found in the owner’s manual and also on either the glove compartment door, the fuel door or the doorsill. Overinflated tires can cause the tire wear to concentrate in the center of the tire, and underinflated tires cause the tires to wear more on the outside of the tires and can reduce your gas mileage. The tread on the tires needs to be checked as well. Place a penny upside down into the tire groove and if the entire head is showing, then it’s time to replace the tire.

If you need your tires checked or replaced, BMW of Northwest Arkansas will gladly service your tires and provide any other auto services you may require.
