The 2025 BMW X7 has several powerful engines to pick from. The base is a turbocharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that generates 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The top engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 that pumps out 631 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS also comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that produces 375 horsepower, but it only offers 369 lb-ft of torque. Plus, its top engine will only give you 550 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque.
Space and Comfort
Inside the 2025 BMW X7 is a big and spacious cabin that accommodates up to seven people. When all rear seats are folded, it provides a substantial amount of cargo room: 90.4 cubic feet. Standard features include synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats with memory settings, and a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS also fits up to seven, but the back row can feel cramped. In addition, its total cargo space maxes out at 84.7 cubic feet.
Tech Features
The 2025 BMW X7 has an assortment of advanced tech components. The infotainment system is easy to use and comes with a 14.9-inch touchscreen. It can also be operated with voice commands. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, in-dash navigation, and wireless device charging are also standard. The Mercedes-Benz GLS has some of these features, but the infotainment system touchscreen is just 12.3 inches.
